BornCovered is a purpose-driven program rooted in lived experience and a deep commitment to empowering young individuals impacted by the foster care system. Founded by Darnella M. Miller, the organization was created from personal triumphs and a genuine desire to inspire, uplift, and restore confidence in young people—especially young girls—navigating complex life circumstances.
With over 15 years of professional experience in healthcare, Darnella brings a unique and informed perspective to her work. She spent 17 formative years in the foster care system, an experience that continues to shape the heart and direction of BornCovered. Established in November 2022, BornCovered was born from her passion to help young people recognize their worth, discover their identity, and unlock their untapped potential.
As a former teen mother in foster care, Darnella defied the odds by pursuing higher education, earning a Healthcare Degree and is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) at Walden University, further strengthening her ability to support youth and families through advocacy, education, and empowerment.
